Why Start Another Red Sox Blog?

by @ 6:12 pm. Filed under About Fenway Fables

Welcome to my new Red Sox blog.  As part of the newest addition to the Baseball Historians family of sites, my responsibility will be to not only keep tabs on the latest Red Sox news, but I’ll also be posting historical pieces on Red Sox history.  Once the off season rolls around, I’ll probably start doing Season Look Backs of a similar vein to the one’s that you can find over at Black Sox Blog.

In the meantime, my primary focus will be on the 2006 Red Sox.  Things are looking grim.  The Red Sox just lost their third straight game to Yankees today and now sit four and a half games back of first place.  Regardless, I think the Red Sox will get back into it.

A couple of my favorite blogs are Firebrand of the American League and A Red Sox Fan in Pinstripe Territory.  Jere’s blog is one I particularly like.  Great writing and he mixes in enough personal stuff to make for an interesting daily read.  I’m not big on commenting on other blogs (although I hope you’ll leave plenty on mine) but I make a point to stop by those two blogs on a regular basis.  They just don’t know it.

Probably the worst part about this job is that I have to link to a Yankees site.  And it’s one of the worst.  If you’re not familiar with Nick Smith’s blog, Baseball’s Savior, it’ll make you want to throw up.  You’d think his name was Nick Steinbrenner.  He basically takes the typical arrogant Yankee’s fan and then compounds it to the nth degree.

So stop by on occassion.  And if you’re a fellow blogger and I don’t have your link up, drop me a line.  It’s not that I don’t like you, I just don’t know about you.
