Sad Sam Jones Has Tough Start In Red Sox Loss

by @ 3:37 am. Filed under 1918 Red Sox Diary - June

June 14, 1918 at Sportsmans Park
Browns 5, Red Sox 4  (32-21)

Sad Sam Jones looked all but ready to take the win in this one but he gave up a two run triple in the bottom of the turn that turned a 4-3 lead into a 5-4 defeat.  Jones final line had him giving up five runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Babe Ruth was the hitting star in the contest.  He went two for four with a double while Dave Shean singled and scored twice.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
