Red Sox Signs Hideki Okajima to Two Year Deal

by @ 6:17 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

While the Red Sox continue to negotiate with Daisuke Matsuzaka, they signed another Japenese pitcher.  Left handed reliever Hideki Okajima signed a two year $2.5 million deal with an option for 2009.  Okajima will set up and will also probably serve as a left handed specialist.  His numbers look solid and for just over $1 million for a lefty reliever, Theo Epstein might have found a bargain.
