Red Sox Salvage One Win in Series Loss to Rangers

by @ 11:14 am. Filed under 2007 Season

It took a big game from David Ortiz, but the Red Sox snuck out of Texas with one win and they evened their record back up at 3-3.  Oddly, that’s good for second place and they’re just a half game back of the Blue Jays.

Tim Wakefield and two relievers held the Ranges to two runs on three hits.  Unfortunately, the Red Sox were shut out and had just three hits themselves.  Nothing too good to say about this 2-0 loss other then the pitching was very good, it just didn’t matter.

Then on Satursday, the Red Sox scored four but they got doubled up by the Rangers in an 8-4 loss.  Julian Tavarez was knocked around for four runs on six hits and five walks in just four innings of work.  J.D. Drew and Julio Lugo had two hits and an RBI.

Finally, on Sunday, we got the perfect storm.  Curt Schilling threw a good game and David Ortiz hit two homeruns and drove in all three Red Sox runs.  Also give some credit to Jon Papelbon.  He came into the game with the bases loaded and he got out of the jam to pick up the save.

The Red Sox home opener is tomorrow as the Mariners roll into Fenway Park for a three game series.  Josh Beckett is throwing as he’ll get the home opening honors.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
