Red Sox Outbids Rest of League to Negotiate With Daisuke Matsuzaka

by @ 7:25 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

The Red Sox front office is getting serious.  They took a huge gamble by spending somewhere between $42 million and $50 million for a 30 day window to exclusively negotiate a deal with Japanese superstar Daisuke Matsuzaka.  There’s no doubt Matsuzaka is a bona fide star and he showed his stuff in the World Baseball Classic.  It just seems like these Japanese pitchers have just as much of a chance to flame out (Kaz Ishii??) then they do of making it big.  Then again, this guy took down the worlds best and walked away with the WBC MVP.

If the Red Sox don’t sign him, he returns to Japan to play there.  I’m thinking for that price tag, the Red Sox are serious about signing him.  On a good note, the Yankees won’t be getting him.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
