Red Sox Fall Behind In ALCS, Hitters Held In Check By Indians’ Start Jake Westbrook

by @ 4:06 am. Filed under 2007 Season

The Red Sox had a tough time getting anything going in their 4-2 loss to the Indians.  Jason Varitek belted a two run homer in the seventh inning but that was the extent of the Red Sox offense.  They outhit the Indians 7-6, they just had a tough time pushing those runners across the plate.

Dice-K didn’t have his best stuff and he was responsible for all four Indians runs.  He did strike out six in 4 2/3 innings but a two run homer to Kenny Lofton put the Indians on the board and then he was tagged for two more runs in the fifth.  The pen did a nice job and three relievers held the Indians scoreless for 3 1/3 innings but the closest they could get was 4-2.

Game four is tonight and it’ll be Paul Byrd going up against Tim Wakefield.  The National League is already wrapped up with the Rockies sweeping the Diamondbacks so they’ll have to wait it out until someone wins this series.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
