Papi, Manny KO Rangers

by @ 7:02 am. Filed under 2008 Red Sox

It’s been a familiar sight for the past half decade: Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz carrying a rally. Ramirez hit a two-run homer after slumping slugging partner David Ortiz tied the game with an RBI single in the eighth inning, lifting the (12-7) Red Sox to a 5-3 win over (7-11) Texas.

Jonathan Papelbon got pinch hitter Milton Bradley to fly out to deep center, clinching the Sox third straight win and ending Bradley’s 13 game hit streak. It’s Pap’s sixth save on the season. Javier Lopez got the win in only a third inning of work. Starter Jon Lester pitched 6.1 solid innings, surrendering 10 hits and 3 earned runs while fanning 5.

Sox Notes: Manny Ramirez’s home run was number 496 for his career. He’s chasing Eddie Murry (504) on the all-time list.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
