Bullet Joe Throws Three Hit Shutout to Get Red Sox Back On Track

by @ 3:37 am. Filed under 1918 Red Sox, 1918 Red Sox Diary - April

April 23, 1918 at Fenway Park
Red Sox 1, Yankees 0  (7-1)

The Red Sox were two outs away from being no hit in this one before Amos Strunk singled to break it up.  Babe Ruth followed that up with a pinch hit single to put runners at the corner and after an intentional walk before George Whiteman hit a fly ball that was muffed to score Strunk to win the game.

Bullet Joe Bush threw a fine game and he improved to 2-0 on the season.  He gave up three hits and four walks with a strikeout in the shutout.

See if another title will be won by purchasing Green Bay Packers Tickets for the season. One of the model franchises is in Foxboro as New England Patriots Tickets are tough to get. The NFC East is pretty competitive so get New York Giants Tickets to see the rivalries. With a new identity New York Jets Tickets are great for the new stadium.
